About us

CGWCSD was established in the year 2011 as a non-governmental, not-for-profit, and non-political organization with a commitment to entrenching gender equality, women empowerment and social inclusion principles as core values for transforming the Nigeria Society, and the African Continent, through gender responsive research, trainings,  policy dialogues, mentorship programs, advocacies, women/girls focused intervention programs across sectors, grassroots mobilization, and largely to reduce vulnerabilities among marginalized groups – women, girls, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and children from poor homes.

To establish a Centre of Excellence which will engage in gender responsive research and training; and interventions both at policy and program levels to help transform the African continent, in particular, the Nigerian Society into a socially inclusive society where gender justice is embraced and sustained for human and national development.

To see a Nigerian Society devoid of gender-based discriminations and abuses, and allow women and girls; men and boys use their God-given talents without being inhibited by conditions of birth, religion, culture, social, economic, or political circumstances and cleavages.

To work mainly with women and girls; but also with men and boys (where this will help in the attainment of gender equality and gender justice) for sustainable human development; and importantly, serving as a midwife in helping the vulnerable groups, especially women and children overcome deprivations caused by gender induced inequalities, oppressions, and abuses; and thereby giving 'voice' to the voiceless in our society.
